The amazing kapa haka performance

On the forth of September 2012 the senior school went to the CBS Arena to celebrate the 30 years of the cultural festival and to represent our school in kapa haka .


At 1:30 it was our turn to go on stage, as we walked on I thought WOW! This a amazing it is like I am on a stage in Hollywood. But as we where standing there the nerves started to kick in.Once the boy started their Haka we took the stage and blew everyone minds. One they had finished we started to sing a waiata and we rocked, then as soon as we started to sing Reach it was amazing because the crowed was clapping along and it gave me heaps of confidence .

When we finished I felt relief and achievement then we sat down and saw everyone else, it was so amazing. When the Cultural Festival was overWhaea Sam talked to us about how amazing we were,nthen we packed up and left for the day.

I will never forget the amazing time I had on stage and I can't wait for next year. We had the best performance ever.

Speech And Mihi

On the 13 of August  I shared my mihi and speech to the class and this is what the class thought of my speech.

2 Stars:
Fluency, eye contact, pace and the content was superbly written.

wish:
Volume and speek a little slower.

The thing that I thought I could of done better was:
Standing tall and no figiting.

Mardi Gras Masks

The changes I made to my mask was that I added stars to my eyes and changed the colours because we couldn't get the colours I needed. The hardest part of creating my mask was the painting because I had really small parts to paint and the paint brush was really fat. The colours  I used was silver, gold, blue and also purple, I used them because they suited each other and worked really well. The mask shows my personalty because it is different from everyone else and I love doing different things. The mask is suitable for celebrating 30 years of the cultural because it is a mardi Gras mask.

Statistical investigations

My groups statistical investigation was which gender can skip the longest. The type of graph i created was the pie graph.In the end the results showed that girls can skip longer than boys out of 2 trials.

Native Birds Artworks.

On Wednesday a lady called Suzzy came from the Christchurch art gallery to teach us about texture and making the colours from the crayons stand out and mix really well.The thing she tought us how to  draw was native birds.

I think I really did well was the diffrent colours on my Takahe because it made it stand out more. I did my native bird picture by using pencil and crayon. The thing I would change would be my backround on my bird
