Our long run experiment Coin toss

In math we were studying long run experiments. We were doing coin tosses and our trials consisted of five trials, ten trials, twenty trials, fifty and one hundred.

My kapa haka expierence

Boom, boom, boom, boom,boom, boom, boom, my heart was pounding out of my chest as I got one step closer. " I'm gonna throw up " wimpered Isabell . Then before you know it we have our heads held high walking onto that stage. " Hupe, kiraro " shouted Taleah, this is the last time that I will ever represent my school. As I was performimg I had to smile and have my bead held high and overcome my nerves. Every clap, every smile made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. When our haka hit, WOW there was just no words to explain it. While we where walking off stage I was trembling with honour relief and happiness. Back in the main room was a weird feeling. Before you know it we had a cold bottle of H2O. As we sat down on our seats and watched the rest of the performance it was just mindblowing. Seeing people get up on that stage and showing strenth for their school, just awesome. At the end of the day it was sad knowing that its was my last performance. On the plus side knowing that I have represented my school made me feel honoured. I walked out of there with no regrets.

Blindingly bright
Shimmers of blue

A tessellation is a repeating pattern that has no gaps.

The shapes I have tessellated are: hexagons, stars and diamonds.

I have tessellated them by: reflection.

On Wednesday, two art teachers from the christchurch art gallery came to take us for a very cool art lesson. Firstly Room 6 sat down and they told us what we were doing for the day. After we talked we each received a piece of fabric and went to a table that had black paint. In the end I got two pieces by some people got three.




My flag symbolises my community, to make its brighter by planting more flowers.
The best part about my flag is the design of my flowers.
If I would change anything it would be to make my small flowers stand out more and make them a little bigger.




My flag symbolises the strength of Christchurch and how we have been strong throughout our hard time.
My best part about the flag is EVERYTHING!
I wouldn't want to change anything I think that my flag turned out how I wanted it to.

NYLD ( national young leaders day )

There I was strolling with all my classmates into a huge black room with hundreds of seats and people from a different range of schools running around and greeting all kinds of different people.As we all sat down with our booklet and pen I got all nervous and felt a pounding in my stomach but at the same time I was super exited and ready for the NYLD to start. When the hosts came up to us and said " hey guys are you ready start " everyone was screaming and super energetic. As four speakers came on and off the stage

Term 1 goal reflections

To use comma and apostrophes with confidence:
I have been achiving this goal by reading my work to my buddy,reading out loud to myself and also keeping an eye out for really long sentaces.

To add and subtract decimals that include tenths, hundredths, thousandths:
I have deffinatly achived this goal because i have learned different starategies and and have been practicing new strategies lot more.

work hard in all my studies to try and achive the academic cup at the end of the year:
I have been trying hard alot more in tests and focusing more in my classroom.


I know that I have archived my commas and decimal goals.I am still working on my apostrophes and my academic goal will be my goal for the year. :)

Team work

"Sophie can you please go into the space group " said Miss Shinn on the 26 of march. Today the amazing Room 6 got a specific job to do with our dull looking garden. My awesome and unique team were working on the spacing part of our garden. We decided to grow a plant no longer than 1.64 meters, and also to space out we're the plants will go.

Our ideas were great but with everyone's unique ideas and suggestions we will have a colourful looking garden

My first day of school

When I was just 5 years old I had my first experience at a big red Primary school called Burnham.When I took my first step into the classroom I felt warm and welcomed like I have been here already.Straight away people wanted to be my friend but I had already had one special friend called Nakesha. My teacher was called Mrs Burlingson, Mrs Burlingson was a nice fun teacher that always helped me whenever I was stuck. At my first lunch break I played in this cool green fort. It had two fireman poles well, that's what I called the sliding pole,a tunnel and this really cool slide. when the bell went I was stuck up the top of the fort not knowing what the bell ment, but then Nakesha said that it ment to go to class. When I got back to my class Mrs Burlingson took us up to the top of the fort and we got one parachute each mine was the best. Then after school mum talked to Mrs Burlingson. After that I said I had the best day and couldn't wait till tomorrow.

The wonderful me

Kia ora my name is Sophie  and what you are going to read is an a amazing story of my unique life. First of all I am 12 years old and was born in the Christchurch hospital by my Mum Angela . I have got four amazing sisters Renee, Calsea, Abbey, Courtenay and myself. plus I have got one cool sporty brother Sam, I have also got a hansom little nephew called Kordae. Also my dad Robert  also know as Lockie. When I was two years old I enjoyed my first day in the snow but I hated the snowman so much I cried. Now I go to an amazing school and have heaps of awesome friends called Sophie, Breanna, Thomas, Dominic, Rebekah, Taleah, Isabell, Didi and Reece. My hobbies are Sport ( mostly netball ) Reading and cooking. I have got two dogs called Izzi witch it a black Labrador and a little white dog called Emjay and he is a Bechion Chihahua. I am really good at netball for the last 2 years I have gotten player of the year from my netball coaches.
